Conditions Full-time employment, 36 hours per week. One-month probation period. National and international travel may be required.

Compensation CCNL Level (Area) B2. The salary will be commensurate with the titles and experience. Gross Annual Retribution (RAL) appraisal: EUR 38,000-40,000.

Brief Description of the EPOS Research Infrastructure EPOS (European Plate Observing System, www.epos-eu.org/) is the pan-European research infrastructure dedicated to integrating data, services and facilities of the solid Earth science research communities in Europe. Its mission is to ensure the sustainable use and re-use of multidisciplinary solid Earth science data and products, fostering state-of-the-art research and innovation. EPOS is committed to establishing and underpinning sustainable and long-term access to solid Earth science data and services, integrating diverse European research infrastructures under a common federated framework. EPOS ERIC is the legal entity established by the European Commission to coordinate and integrate national and international research infrastructures, forming the EPOS Delivery Framework. Job Mission and Main Responsibilities EPOS ERIC is looking for a motivated and skilled Object-Oriented software developer with basic system architect competencies, who will participate in the IT Unit activities for the technical development, maintenance and operation of the EPOS Integrated Core Services system software platform at an adequate level of operational quality. This includes software development in Object-Oriented Programming languages like Java and Python, and e-Infrastructural activities needed to improve and maintain the software platform (Code versioning, CI/CD, usage of Kubernetes and Docker). All activities will be carried out in a collaborative way within an existing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Study and analyze innovative technical solutions for improving the microservice-based system. - Maintenance and documentation of the existing software and micro-services. - Relational Database management and administration. - Regularly report to the Chief of IT Unit about the work performed and related issues. Eligibility Criteria At the closing date of applications, candidates must: - Be a national of a member state of the European Union; - Have the appropriate character references for suitability for the duties' performance. Mandatory Qualifications and Professional Experience - Bachelor’s degree in computing science or similar, or relevant experience (at least three years) in OO development in microservices oriented architecture systems and related technologies - Excellent command of spoken and written English. Professional Experience, Qualifications and Skills - Advanced skills in Unix-Like system usage and administration. - Documented experience in development with the following languages, frameworks and dev environments:

• Java and Python (Advanced skills required)
• Springboot framework, JPA Good knowledge of RESTful paradigms. - Documented experience in DevOps lifecycle with Gitlab and Github, CI/CD deployment. - Experience with virtualization environments and tools (Kubernetes, Docker, KVM, VirtualBox). - Good skills and documented experience in communication of results (reports and documentation writing, contribution to scientific publications). - Collaborative skills and documented experience in participating to collaborative work in teams and leading small groups. - Working Professional Proficiency in Italian and English, with ability to speak, read and write both languages with minimal difficulty. Soft skills - Good interpersonal skills and aptitude for teamwork. - Strong goal orientation and ability to work under deadlines. - Curiosity and openness to continuous learning. - Interest in digital infrastructures, data science and research in general. - An aptitude to work in an international context.
